We are off to a great start for the fall lessons, keep up the good work everyone!

As the weather is changing bear in mind the temperature can change rapidly durning the course of your class…  Come to class prepared for the fall and the onset of winter.

Remember that snug fitting sweatshirts, sweaters, long sleeve shirts, jackets, etc. work better for archery, loose fitting garments can get tangled on the bow string.

…I can only say how impressed I am with how well everyone shot.

The levels of focus and concentration exhibited by each competitor was supreme, to say the least, and I believe it lead directly to your success on the range.

The marksmanship, and sportsmanship, displayed by everyone in the tournament was of the highest quality.

The next Ranger Seminar, Maps & Compass, is coming up on February 13th, 2011 2pm – 4pm.

This Seminar will be covering basic 7.5 minute topographical map reading and use,

basic triangulation, and plotting courses.

Students will need to bring their compass, pencil, notebooks. If they have a protractor and compass (The kind ya draw circles with  in geometry…) and of course that great attitude that makes everyone want to be around you.

The cost for the Maps & Compass Seminar is $20 per person (MSD applies) + an additional $8 each for topographical maps  (MSD do not apply to materials)

New to our agenda is the first Doctoral Seminar:Bugs! Bugs! Bugs!

February 20th, 2pm – 4pm

What is a doctoral seminar you may ask?  Along with the Ranger Seminars and Workshops I am introducing Dr. Clark Pierson who will be presenting various topics including, but not limited to, Biology and Entomology.

His debut with us will be Entomology, or….   Bugs! Bugs! Bugs!  He has an amazing collection of specimens and a dissecting microscope for us to take a closer look with.  This will be a fantastic opportunity to not only meet Dr. Pierson but also to learn about all the creepy, crawly things that make us scream!

The cost for this seminar is $20 per person (MSD apply)

Leather Workshop II  ” The Armguard”  is being held February 27th, 1pm – 4pm.  Please note that the Leather Workshop times have changed to starting at 1:00pm.

Now that we have some skills, this workshop will go smoothly.

Bring your Water Bottle Sling so we can get the buckles attached!

If anyone would like to have a some of the leather working tools we’ve been using,

let me know and I can help with that!

The cost is 20 per person (MSD apply) + $20 per person for materials.

Issues came up with the City of Wheat Ridge and until they are resolved (2 -3 weeks), Open Range on Sundays is closed.  No worries though, we will back shooting soon enough.

This is a great opportunity to really focus on your indoor training!
