November/December 2010 Newsletter
Happy November! With the beautiful fall weather we’ve been having it’s been wonderful for shooting!
Our Pumpkin Demise Festival was a ton of fun!!! Pictures will be posted on the website, www.martialarchery.com so keep checking back!
Christmas is coming and you may want to get your archer some new equipment. The Archery Pro Shop is now open!!! Visit the shop to see what perfect gift you can pick up for your archer. Prices and items will also be listed on the website.
Mr. Johnson will be out of town from November 18th through the 22nd. All lessons will be rescheduled. Visit with Mr. Johnson to reschedule.
As the Thanksgiving season falls upon us we are planning a “Turkey Shoot!” (No, we won’t be shooting live turkeys.) Mr. Johnson will provide one target. If you want to construct a target please do! It is advisable to check with Mr. Johnson as to appropriate target materials so we don’t harm our arrows. We will be holding the Turkey Shoot on Saturday Nov. 27th from 2 to 4pm.
In order to truly enjoy the season we will also be having a Pumpkin Pie Contest!!!! Bring your favorite Pumpkin Pie and we’ll put Mr. Johnson and the parents to a taste test. The winner will take home the accolades of having made the best pumpkin pie. ******Remember we do have a peanut allergy so please bring the labels from items used to make your recipe. You can contact Mr. Johnson with questions.*******
Cost for the Turkey Shoot is:
$10.00/one student
$18.00/two students
$25.00/three students
$31.00/four students
After the 4th student in your family, each additional student will be $6.00.
Enjoy the fall as the weather continues to get cooler! We have one more big event coming in December. The Arctic Arrow Tournament is on December 19th from 10-2pm. The schedule will be as follows:
Warm up from 10-11.
Competition from 11-1ish.
Burgers, dogs and marshmallows after the tournament.
Cost:

$67.50/three students
$85.00/four students
After the fourth student in your family, each additional student will be $17.50.
Winter temperatures and weather are expected. Please dress appropriately in order to stay warm and still be able to shoot. Mr. Johnson will have the fire pits going but appropriate clothing is advised. Please bring your own chairs.

Fall session runs from Sept. 27th through December 19th.
Turkey shoot and Pumpkin Pie contest Sunday November 27th from 2-4pm.
December 19th – 2nd Annual Arctic Arrow Tournament 10-2pm.
Holiday break will be from December 20th through January 9th.
Here is a break down of the 2011 Session Schedule:
Winter session is from January 10th through April 3rd.
Spring session is from April 4th through June 26th.
Summer session is from June 27th through September 18th.
Fall Session is from September 19th through December 18th.

Seminars will be from 2-4pm and are as follows:
Science of Archery January 16th
Maps and Compass February 13th
Ropes, Knots and Tarps March 13th
Safe Fire and Knife Handling April 3rd
Leather Works dates are:

II. February 27th
III. March 27th
WINTER SESSION will not have regular classes. During this session open range hours are available from 12-2pm every Sunday. RSVP by 6pm on the preceding Friday if you are going to attend. During this time you are invited to come shoot at the Jay street range. Mr. Johnson will be there and available to help, but there will not be formal lessons.
